Betsy Smith has called DeKalb County home her entire life. Born and raised in Smithville, her knowledge of the area comes from far more than working in real estate—it comes from a lifetime spent on its back roads, around its communities, on Center Hill Lake, and among the people who make this area home.

A full-time REALTOR® since 2016, Betsy works with buyers and sellers throughout DeKalb County and Middle Tennessee. Her experience includes residential homes, land and acreage, farms, lake properties, and second homes. Whether helping someone purchase their first home, sell a longtime family property, evaluate a piece of land, or make a move to Middle Tennessee, she believes her job is to help clients understand their options and make informed decisions without pressure.

For Betsy, real estate isn't simply about getting a property under contract. She stays involved throughout the process, answering questions, explaining what comes next, watching the details, and helping her clients navigate the issues that can arise between the first conversation and the closing table. Her approach is straightforward: honest guidance, clear communication, and putting the client's best interests first.

Her connection to Center Hill Lake also goes back to childhood. Betsy's father was a retired military veteran who later became a professional bass fisherman, and much of her childhood was spent around the lake and surrounding countryside. That background gives her a personal understanding of the area that complements her professional experience with lake homes and second-home properties. At the same time, her roots run just as deeply through Smithville's neighborhoods, rural communities, family farms, and countryside.

Betsy holds the Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR®) and Resort & Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS®) designations and continues to invest in education that helps her better represent buyers and sellers across the different types of properties found throughout Middle Tennessee.

Outside of real estate, faith, family, animals, and community are important parts of Betsy's life. She and her husband, live on a small farm and are proud parents and grandparents. Betsy is active in her church and volunteers through the Allen's Chapel Church Food Ministry and other local outreach efforts serving people in the community.

Her love for animals also led to a partnership with the DeKalb Animal Shelter. When a client buys or sells a property with Betsy and adopts from the shelter within three months of closing, Betsy pays the pet's adoption fee, subject to the shelter's adoption policies and requirements. It's a program with a simple purpose: helping people and pets find their forever home.
